Why we chose it: Brix was engaged by the landowners of a 20-hectare industrial and business precinct to create one of Melbourne’s largest suburban urban renewal projects. Located in East Bentleigh, the vision for the precinct included open green spaces, a government school campus and extensive commercial office accommodation, a diverse range of high-quality housing, and neighbourhood retail shopping.
Our process: Working alongside Make Property Group, Abacus Property Group and the Gillon Group, the vision for East Village was a mixed-use precinct with a focus on employment and education opportunities.
The outcome: The master plan for East Village incorporates a centrally located town square and park. It encourages social and recreational experiences through quality local shopping, dining, and entertainment options that meet the daily needs of residents and workers. A rezoning for the precinct was issued in 2021, and work is underway to start planning to deliver on the vision.
